An Old Bathtub Firepit

by Robert Lee Haney
(Indianpolis, Indiana )

Well after looking online for some burn barrels and even goin to a few diffrent companys with no luck, I decided to use my old bathtub as a burn pit for all the dead tree branchs.

I just dug a hole in the ground in a clearing. Cut an 8 inch square in the bottom for a drain hole for rain water. Most of the dirt that came from the hole I placed around the base of the tub. i didnt place the tub all the way into the ground, I left roughly 6 inches above the surface. So i can put the dirt around the base and place some red brick I had laying in my yard and it looked rather good for a quick easy and cheap fire pit. As of now I'm only using it to burn dead tree branchs. But I got a metal grate, like a hand rail or a piece of chain link fence, which works fine as a grill.
